Momentum distribution of atoms in liquid and solid helium

Souleymane Omar Diallo, University of Delaware

The aim of Deep Inelastic Neutron Scattering (DINS) measurements is to determine the properties of single particles such as the momentum distribution and atomic kinetic energies. In this talk, I will present recent DINS results on solid 4He and liquid 3He-4He mixtures. I will discuss fundamental questions such the relationship between Bose-Einstein condensate fraction and supersolidity and the effects of impurities on the dynamics of singles particles.
